Introduction to Die Casting Molds

Die casting molds are tools used to cast metal parts, specifically for completing the die casting process on a specialized die casting and forging machine. The basic die casting process involves molten metal being poured into the mold cavity at low or high speed. The mold has movable cavity surfaces, which are pressurized and forged as the molten metal cools, eliminating shrinkage cavities and porosity defects in the blank and achieving a forged, fragmented grain structure. This significantly improves the overall mechanical properties of the blank.

Die casting materials, die casting machines, and molds are the three essential elements of die casting production; none can be omitted. The die casting process organically integrates these three elements to stably, rhythmically, and efficiently produce qualified castings, and even high-quality castings, with good appearance, internal quality, and dimensions conforming to drawings or agreed-upon specifications.
